Sources, attribution & licences
GoAware shows short factual classifications and its own calculated values. Only sources with a normalized dataset on the page enter the score. The active scoring set below is generated from the exact same source configuration used in the overview, map and country views, so every active source stays in sync everywhere.
The current active scoring set is shown live on the main page and in every country detail. This page documents the supported official sources and attribution terms.
United Kingdom — FCDO
Attribution: Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. © Crown copyright. Source: Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. The country-specific original URL and update date appear in every destination view.
No official status, endorsement or government partnership is implied.
Canada — Government of Canada
Attribution: Adapted from “Travel Advice and Advisories for [destination]”, Government of Canada. Every destination view identifies the complete destination-specific title and links to the exact original URL.
Use is limited to this non-commercial service. Accuracy is checked against the identified original. The Canada.ca terms and conditions require due diligence, the title, author where available, and original URL. Government symbols and wordmarks are not used.
New Zealand — SafeTravel / MFAT

Austria — BMEIA
The Austrian Foreign Ministry publishes an official four-level safety scale from 1 (good security standard) to 4 (travel warning), including regional levels. GoAware imports the numeric BMEIA level and update date into the same normalized 1–4 scoring model and links back to the official country page. Full BMEIA advisory prose, imagery and official marks are not copied.
Germany — Federal Foreign Office
Only independently worded factual warning status is shown. The Federal Foreign Office asks sites to integrate country information by linking rather than physically copying its texts, so GoAware links to the official source and does not reproduce the advisory prose.
Ireland — Department of Foreign Affairs
Optional supported source: GoAware can normalize this four-level framework. It is shown in country scoring only when the current dataset actually contains Ireland records.
Netherlands — Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Optional supported source: GoAware can normalize the Dutch green/yellow/orange/red framework. It is shown in country scoring only when the current dataset actually contains Netherlands records.
Australia — Smartraveller / DFAT
Only the short factual overall advice level and an independently presented classification are shown, with a link to the official Smartraveller source. GoAware does not reproduce complete advisory prose, government logos, photographs or other protected design elements.
