Scoring rule

UK 30%. Remaining weight shared transparently.

For each destination, GoAware checks which active government sources have a usable normalized advisory level. If the UK Foreign Office is available together with at least one other source, it contributes 30% and the remaining available governments share 70% equally.

Exact weighting rule

UK weight = 30% · Other available governments = 70% ÷ number of other available inputs

If UK is unavailable, all available governments share 100% equally. If UK is the only usable source, it receives 100%. Missing records always receive 0%.

Exact Safety Score formula

Safety Score = 100 − ((weighted average normalized level − 1) ÷ 3 × 100)

Normalized Level 1 maps to 100, Level 2 to about 67, Level 3 to about 33 and Level 4 to 0. Open any destination to see the exact government weights used for that country.

UK receives a deliberate 30% weightThis weighting is part of GoAware's own methodology and is not an official government weighting.

Remaining sources share 70%With five other available governments, each receives 14%; with four, each receives 17.5%; with two, each receives 35%.

Missing data = 0% weightA missing government record is excluded from the calculation and shown as 0% in the country detail.
